CBBEL completed Phase I, Phase II and Phase III Engineering for the intersection of US 52 at River Road in the Village of Shorewood. The Village was looking to address capacity, operations, and safety issues at the intersection, as well as add additional through lanes.
Engineering evaluations determined that the best way to improve capacity and safety would be to provide two through lanes and extended left-turn lanes in each direction along US 52, as well as a through lane and a new right-turn lane along River Road. Work on this APWA-award-winning project included traffic signal modernization, pavement widening and roadway lighting.
