Looking to support economic development opportunities in the area, the Village of Justice selected CBBEL to complete Phase I and Phase II Engineering for a proposed interchange connecting I-294 to arterial roadways, including 88th/Cork Avenue, 79th Street and Archer Road.
CBBEL prepared the Project Development Report and the bid documents for the construction of the partial diamond interchange at the 88th/Cork Avenue crossing of I-294. The process required close coordination with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois Tollway and Cook County, because the involved roadways are under state, Tollway and county jurisdiction. As part of Phase I Engineering, three interchange alternatives were considered, including the development of separate 2040 traffic projections for each alternative.
