CBBEL is working with the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) to develop an Environmental Impact Statement for North DuSable Lake Shore Drive, from Grand Avenue to Hollywood Avenue. The scope of work for the overall project includes reconstructing 7.0 miles of the Outer Drive to improve safety, mobility, access and design. CBBEL was retained by IDOT as a subconsultant to perform stakeholder outreach, preliminary engineering studies, environmental studies and drainage studies.

The project is located within historic Lincoln Park, which requires an expanded level of analysis and coordination with businesses, residents and other stakeholders. CBBEL has supported the overall Stakeholder Involvement Program and taken a lead role for additional analysis and outreach in the section of the project between Montrose Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. CBBEL is also supporting the overall NEPA process and the development of the overall Alternatives Evaluation process and documentation.
