Re-establish Crystal Creek Project

Project Overview

Developing alternatives to improve failing flood sewers

  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Monitoring
  • Public Meetings
  • Survey
  • Wetland Delineation

The City of Crystal Lake has hired CBBEL to develop design alternatives to re-establish Crystal Creek. Between Highland Avenue and St. Andrews Lane, the creek enters two undersized and failing storm sewers. The goal of the project is to re-establish the open channel creek at this location and remove the existing storm sewers.

The CBBEL team is responsible for providing three potential design alternatives to achieve this goal and make a recommendation to the City on the preferred design. In order to design and evaluate the alternatives, CBBEL is conducting hydraulic modeling, wetland delineation, field surveys and public meetings.
