The CBBEL team has worked with the Chicago Department of Transportation to provide engineering services for the design of new traffic signals, as well as the modernization of existing signals, throughout the City. CBBEL evaluated more than 50 intersections, analyzing them for capacity, signal warrants and traffic signal modernization.

Engineering services for each of these intersections was divided into assessment and analysis, including data collection, assessment of existing traffic and recommendations; Phase I engineering, including an environmental survey, traffic signal plans and capacity summaries; and Phase II engineering, including preparation of bids, Traffic Signal Control plans and additional plans for pavement, marking, signage and roadway improvements.
