Studies performed by CBBEL determined the extent of the flood damage, established probable causes for the flooding, and provided possible solutions to reduce the risk of future flooding in the area. The study results determined the best solution was to construct large capacity relief sewers. Public hearings provided valuable input and identified residents’ concerns. Subsequently, Burke LLC Design/Build began designing improvements for sewer and watermain construction. Improvements were implemented in a phased process to reduce flooding in three neighborhoods. The project delivery team consisted of Airy’s Inc., Neri Brothers Construction, and George Kennedy Construction Company.
