APWA Lake Branch 2017 Project of the Year Award | Transportation | $25M-$75M. CBBEL designed Phase II of the reconstruction of Peterson Road, a vital transportation project by Lake County for economic development of the corridor, to provide 2 through lanes in each direction with a barrier median. This route experienced excessive delays during peak travel times so LCDOT took a proactive approach and widened Peterson Road to accommodate the traffic of today while planning for the growth of tomorrow. The project was done in phases starting in 2014 and was completed in 2016. In addition to widening, the project also included intersection improvements, resurfacing work, a bike path and sidewalk.
