Wheaton’s Northside Park Lagoon was severely degraded and in need of restoration. The restoration included installing native vegetation, dredging, installation of new paths, bridges, docks, aeration and a new weir. The project also included flood mitigation that was necessary for North Main Street culvert. An area at the north end of the lagoon was excavated to provide compensatory storage for the bridge abutment fill, the shoreline reclamation area and mitigation for Main Street flows.
