The Graue Mill Flood Protection Improvements Projects were constructed in 5 phases from 2015 – 2018 and consist of storm sewer installation, 3’ tall berms and flood-walls, the installation of 13 floodgates (both vehicular and pedestrian) and numerous pump stations.  The proposed project provides a 100-year level of flood protection for approximately 60 residences and 3 multi-story condominium buildings located along Salt Creek.  The Village of Hinsdale, DuPage County Department of Stormwater Management and the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County were able to secure $2.5 million through the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program to provide a complete Flood Reduction Project within this residential subdivision.
