Palatine Becomes More “Bicycle-Friendly”

July 28th, 2017

Village of Palatine

CBBEL designed and provided construction observation for approximately 12.5 miles of the Village of Palatine’s Bicycle Transportation Plan. The project included a combination of signed bike routes, striped on-street bike lanes and shared vehicle/bike lanes designed to create safer and more pleasant routes for cyclists. The Village’s efforts to become a more bicycle-friendly community are encouraging people to bike for transportation and recreation throughout the community. Harry Spila, Director of Community Services, lead the design and successfully obtained federal ITEP funding for the project.
