DuPage River Sweep

May 25th, 2016

As part of CBBEL’s ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have adopted the stretch of the East Branch of the DuPage River between Hobson Road and 75th Street. The CBBEL team has committed to helping clean up and restore our section of the river two times per year

The first cleanup of the year took place on May 21st at the DuPage River Sweep. We had 2 kayaks paddled by John Caruso and Michael Burke that were able to expertly navigate the stretch and catch debris in the channel, as well as point out trash along the banks to the other 16 volunteers that assisted on the day. In total we collected 10 bags of trash, a tire and a sheet of plywood. We look forward to cleaning our stretch again in the fall!
